Tricia Christakos, Student Intern

Individual and Relationship Therapist
Philosophy and Approach:
I enact my role as counselor by walking alongside my clients as we explore together how all the parts of ourselves and our lives impact and create who we are, including the parts of ourselves that may be negatively impacting our ability to exist in a healthy and enjoyable way. I use Person Centered approaches that view my clients as the experts of their own lives where I serve as a translator of lived experience to help my clients gain understanding of themselves. I help bring connection between the parts of ourselves that we may be disconnected from and help facilitate healing by bringing clients into contact with emotions and experiences they may never have processed through using various therapeutic techniques. These techniques include an emphasis on the somatic experience of feeling. I also bring my client’s awareness to their strengths and many alternate storylines through Narrative Therapy, helping them live and tell the story of their life in a way that focuses on strengths and acceptance of who we are.

Sliding Scale Fee Structure:Owls’ Nest North is committed to making services accessible to everyone regardless of ability to pay. We seek to catch those who fall through the cracks of care in our current system. My sliding scale is determined by the current fee schedule of Owls’ Nest North. If you are un- or under-insured and therefore forced to pay out-of-pocket, please let me know prior to our first session, so we can determine your eligibility for a sliding scale fee. If you are experiencing difficulty navigating the new healthcare system, we are also happy to support and advocate for you in becoming insured.

At this time, I am only available to see OHP subscribers and cash/out-of-pocket payers. My fees with a cash-pay discount are: $45 for individuals and $65 for relationship counseling.  ONN only accepts cash as payment (no checks or cards).

Cancellations:Occasionally life intervenes and prevents us from following through with our commitments. I trust our mutual respect of one another’s time. As such, it is our policy to collect my full session fee for no-shows and sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.

If you are an OHP client, our contract does not allow us to charge for missed appointments and we would not want to, but we are unable to hold a regular appointment space after two missed/late cancelled appointments. You can, however, schedule into cancellation spots on your clinician’s schedule.

Bio: I grew up in the San Diego area and received my first degree from the University of California Santa Barbara in English literature in 2006. I relocated to Portland, Oregon in 2007 after visiting this beautiful city and the lovely Pacific Northwest. I spent my 20s and early 30s navigating motherhood and decided in my late 30s to pursue my dream of becoming a mental health counselor. I received my bachelor’s in psychology and mental health from George Fox University in December of 2022 and then entered my current master’s program in Clinical Mental Health (LPC track) at Oregon State University in 2023. I love the ocean and for fun my family and I often find ourselves at the coast looking for fun rocks, shells, and the allusive glass floats in Lincoln City. At least twice a year I go whale watching in Depoe Bay since whales are some of my favorite creatures. I also love cozying up with a good book, usually something in the science fiction or fantasy genre.

Licensure: I am a third-year graduate student intern enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Oregon State University. At Owls’ Nest North, I am under the clinical supervision of Maddy Gribbon, LCSW. I abide by the code of ethics set forth by the American Association for Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, the American Counseling Association, and the Oregon Licensing Board (OAR chapter 833, Division 100).
